Guaranteed frost free in mid-April is pushing your luck is it not?

I do live in Spain, Harry  ;) Our winters are cold, down to -8c, but short. Ground frost until end of March is usual, sometimes a bit later, but night temps currently around 5-7c.

You've done well getting them that size already, so I'm not sure you even need any advice!
I'm not sure what kind of summer you had in Spain last year but the UK got baked, it was very dry in the south.

I think overcrowding is all part of the fun!

Oh, I do need advice, Bob, I do! But as a newbie Dahlia grower I am chuffed they are doing so well. Its a very peculiar microclimate with very changeable weather here (inland, foothills of the Pyrenees, volcanic region). Last year was pretty hot but not as hot as the year before...

I left my Bishop of Ll in pots over winter, fleeced, and they are just coming up now. Thanks to all on the forum for the assorted advice on how to do that. I'm delighted.
