Ants in my Acer

any idea how I can remove ants from my large acer pot?

    Sprinkle some  antstop granules underneath the container or round it if you can't lift it.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Ants hate damp soil ... is the acer potbound preventing the absorption of moisture and allowing the ants to take up residence in airspaces among the roots?

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    No, it is a very large pot and drains well.
