Phormium ‘yellow wave’

Hi all, Help 😆.I have had a phormium in a large pot for over a year doing great over the last few months it has been getting orange marks.Why is this and what can I do to rectify the problem.Thanks 😊

    Just a bit of rust - very common. It's caused by a small mealybug. I believe you can use a chemical control, but it's not something I've ever done.
    You can remove those leaves right back in at the main stem. It'll produce plenty of new ones.  :)
    They can be a bit more stressed growing in pots, so make sure the soil is refreshed each year if possible. Lifting and dividing them every few years will help keep the variegation fresh. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
