  Looks like a violet. If it’s scented it’s likely to be Viola odorata .... if not it’ll be Viola canina (Dog violet).
  
  As children we scoured the hedgerows picking fistfuls of both to put in Shiphams meat paste jars and line them up on the windowsills of our little village school.  The scent was lovely 😊
