What is this plant/weed with a tuber?

    Wow they are big then!   

    I've noticed a lot of weird seedlings this year ... quite a few I think are Japanese Maple seedlings, which I thought were hard to grow ...

    Are peonies fast growing or spread particularly easily?  They are behaving like ash tree seedlings right now for me!

    I've noticed a lot of weird seedlings this year ... quite a few I think are Japanese Maple seedlings, which I thought were hard to grow ...

    Are peonies fast growing or spread particularly easily?  They are behaving like ash tree seedlings right now for me!
    They tree paeonies and Molly the Witch self seed around here, others have to be coaxed (or maybe I pull them out with all my weeds.
    The Japanese Maples probably had all the right conditions at the right time
