Hi @Rubytoo My soil here is somewhat clay-ey, but the bed the Amistads are in is a newly cut bed, and has recently been well conditioned with manure etc.
Am attaching pics of one of my mature bushes which needs its old wood trimmed soon, and one of last autumn's cuttings (3/9 looking ok-ish)... I found the the cuttings I took of Salvia Love and Wishes seem to have taken better than these ones.
Thanks JanieB, mine look like yours with one or two small leaves sprouting where there are joints at the soil height. But yours look positively chunky compared to the lanky growth of mine. Mine have been sat on a lower shelf in a blow away not great light though.
And your older mature plant stems look similar, but mine does not have any leaves at all yet Thanks for taking the time and trouble to take photos.
