The bowl has to be upside down, B3.  It works a bit like a staddle stone, as used to lift an old-fashioned granary off the ground.   :)  Mine is maybe 16" in diameter... yes, expensive for what it is, but I was desperate for something which would work!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I can recommend the squirrel proof feeders from Homgar. These ones have the weight activated stainless steel shutters over the feeding holes. They do work but are expensive, although when you calculate what bird feed costs over the year, I think they are worth the expense and the saving in sanity!

We have so many squirrels in the garden and I have to say we resorted to a feeding pole with the squirrel baffler on it.  It is brilliant and well worth the price in the amount of money we have saved in bird food being eaten by the squirrels.  It has to be 6ft away from anything as squirrels can jump that far, but as someone else says it is very entertaining seeing the squirrels climb up the pole and get really cross as they can't get past it.  We can't feed the birds anywhere else as the squirrels can also figure out the squirrel busters.
Personally I'd go down the baffler route.  worth every penny.

I have a Squirrel Buster, weight triggered feeder. The squirrel has discovered a way of swinging the feeder so that the seeds fall out, then he has a feast. I also see that they will attempt to eat anything regardless, bulbs, bits of manure, etc and buries anything he doesn’t want to eat. My garden is looking like Colditz

It looks like the baffler plus squirrel buster belt and braces is the way to go.😊

    Cages for feeders.

Worked for me. Don't get squirrels round here really as I'm in a town but there was one last year I happened to catch trying to get into the feeders but didn't have a chance.
