Wooden decking - How can I remove green algae and re-colour it?

Someone said that Jeyes Fluid is a good algae removal tool but I don't know?  Would this smell bad forever?  Is something else better?
For re-colouring we are wondering about a Cuprinol stain?
( Last year I removed green algae and "white lichen flowers" from our north-facing stone patio with a hired Karcher pressure washer, it was slow and I used hundreds of gallons of paid-for water )
Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Make sure you use Oxygen bleach (laundry) and NOT Chlorine bleach!

    Hire a pressure washer with a pick-up pump and use rainwater. My Karcher K4 Eco uses rainwater and flies through decking cleanups with the right tool. You need the proper patio head that looks like a big round vacuum cleaner, trying to do it with the basic lance is a potch and is likely to damage the wood if the pressure is too high. The patio cleaner is a wide head with 4 rotating jets so it's much faster. I don't stain my decking, it's not necessary and just adds to the maintenance costs and time.

    I use this stuff on my rendered walls though as I can't pressure wash them and it kills all moss and algae within a couple of days.

    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
