Mouldy gauntlets

My gauntlets were left in a damp place and got a white powdery mould/ mildew.
I dried them naturally and they're still quite soft and wearable. Should I rub olive oil or something on them? Just brush the powder off? Or do nothing?

    If they are leather might be worth giving them a feed with some boot polish over night just to keep them supple, my brother who does a lot of hedge laying uses dubbing on his occasionally and his leather apron

    Thanks. I won't use OO but I might try the shoe polish. Thanks.
    I hope I don't catch mildew off them!
