Cold Frame

Sorry if this in the wrong place. My son and I started to build a cold frame for me two weeks ago. It's not finish as I'm waiting on the perspex which should arrive this week or early next week. It sort have grow while we were making it, it's the length I wanted but is deeper than planed. I have just finished making the two top windows for it but they are drying.

This is the frame.

This is it with the front and back which gives you some idea of the size. With any luck I'll be able to use it by the weekend. I am using it but it a fuss as it has polythene over it to keep the bad weather of the plants that are inside.

Nice work. You could consider fixing it directly to the brick wall and removing the back timbers so you'll get some second hand heat from the bricks after the sun has gone down.

Had considered that but OH wont let me :'( he has shingle running all the way round the house. I do have a very small green house heater one of those little round one's only about 5 or 6 inches high. Next job to sort out the slope in the path by turning it into steps.

Perfect place to plant some sempervivums and succulents in a cold frame...

wild edges I have so many plants and seedlings in the house I need somewhere to put them so I can sow more seeds. In my shed I have Canna's and other plants that really need more light. My House Leaks have been out all winter and are growing well.

Been busy all day in the garden. Put things into my walk in Greenhouse, and my now full completed so usable cold frame, which is 6 ft x 2ft 6 inches. Sowed a few more seeds. Blow up the pressure washer so had to go and buy another one and have just realise I haven't eaten since 8 am so best do that now. Turned cold out with a wind.

Below is my completed cold frame. Sorry about the mess that a job for another day lol. Four of my seven water butts and two of my three compost bins.
