Liquid compost making

I am waiting for a Hozelock Composter which makes liquid compost.
I already make successful compost in two bins but i wanted to produce some organic fertilizer to feed my beds and pots as i water.
I have done some research and have read that banana skins, steeped and diluted is good for roses. I understand that i could also throw weeds into the mixer as a general feed and i also have nettles that i can add. I am glad about the weeds because i tend not to put them in my compost bins in case i spread weed seeds around my garden so i will be pleased to be able to use them in my biomixer.
Has anyone produced a good general liquid fertilizer feed that can be used for flowering plants in particular? Another idea i had is to simply add to the mixer all the stuff that would go into my normal compost and diluted with water.

Just be aware that nettle tea smells truly appalling and is extremely pervasive, don’t spill it on anything you don’t want to throw away.
  • Thanks for that warning Debs, I have had nettles steeping in an open bucket before now and I know that it stinks! It's one of the reasons I thought this enclosed system would improve things.
