Making A bug hotel

Hello, I want to make a bug hotel out of some old scaffold boards for the frame - poss around 1m x 1m and in fill with bamboo and bits of off cut soil stack and tubes etc.  Is there any tips on the best place in the garden for it?  Should I try and site it west facing or east facing?  Not sure it it makes a difference as such.... (Guess I'm thinking more of the bees as i'm sure woodlice etc won't be too fussy! 🤪

I think it depends on the creatures you want to attract. Ours is under a hedge in a shady place, but you can put them in a sunnier spot.

As AnniD says, where you site it will attract different residents, but anywhere at all will be beneficial to a host of different creatures, so I'd just place it wherever it suits best in the garden
