Hibiscus pruning

Hello there, do you need to prune the old flowers off an established Hibiscus similar to how you treat a lace cap hydrangea?  Many thanks

I never prune mine - not sure if that’s right or not, but they seem to flower ok 😀

I don't prune mine, the old flower heads just fall off.

Leaving the old flower heads won't prevent your Hibiscus syriacus from flowering but... when young, those shrubs do need regular pruning to prevent them from growing too fast and in all directions. I give mine a light pruning at the end of winter.
