Tree stump planting.

    I think sedums/sempervivums would look odd. If I was you, I'd just plant things around it that will complement / partially obsure it, rather than try and turn it into a 'Feature Tree Stump' - maybe a few ferns and hardy geraniums, maybe a foxglove or two. You could add a couple of extra logs to rot down and add further wildlife value.

    The ferns and hardy geraniums sound good @WillDB , found a nice white with purple veins or a blue/purple one that looks nice.
