Fungus ID friend or foe?

ive found the fungus pictured below in a few places in my garden. I know nothing about them. Is this a friend or foe? Should I be worried and what should I do, if anything? Thanks.

No need to be worried, it will die in a couple of days, or sooner, your soil needs fungi, it’s good for the ground.

One of the many forms of cup fungus, busy breaking down the organic matter in your soil and making it available to your plants.
