Too late to move Geum Princes Juliana?

My geum is in a pot by the south facing front door and has overwintered well in East Lancs.  However it has been cold for a while and I have delayed planting it into the garden.  Now I find it has lots of flower buds so I am thinking I left it too late.  Should it be left now until after the flowering season? Also as a rule it is too late now to transplant other perennials?Thank you

    It's a great time to plant perennials ... the garden centres are full of them (as my purse knows to my cost today :flushed)  I've got a load of perennials, all in bud, to plant just as soon as the rain stops.  :)

    This made me laugh Dovefromabove.  I am the same wherever plants are for sale.  It is strange that I have no qualms when planting newly bought, smaller plants having done just that as late as May and June.  However this is one of three which I bought in 9cm pots on line last year and now is quite large.  I guess I am just nervous of "killing" it having come this far.  Hope the rain stops soon and thank you.  Sue

    My daughter @WonkyWomble digs her geums up, splits them, moves them about right through the season ... I used to hold up my hands in horror, but they thrive for her :D

    I can't get my geums to flourish, they don't seem to like the conditions, even though we've got clay soil.
