Football resistant plants?

Hi. I am looking for plants to create a border in my front garden alongside the path. The last plants I tried got damaged by the footballs of children in my street constantly hitting them. Can anyone recommend any plants which may withstand this? Can't really prevent it happening. Thanks in advance.
