My Amelianchier's in full bloom, and so are the ones outside my office building which is 50 miles or so further south - both are maybe a week or two earlier than usual.  Last year they were late.

The leaves in the first pic look rose-like but the trunk doesn't - is there a climbing or rambling rose growing into the tree? Both pics have holly leaves in them but I'm not sure whether that's a hedge behind the tree.

Could be a purple leaved cherry tree?

As far as I know it doesn’t bear any fruit

If it's a cherry the birds probably nab them before you see them ;)
