Agapanthus angst

Hi all. Just joined and need some advice. I have bought and planted numerous agapanthus over the years and to date none of them have ever flowered again. They have lots of leaves but no flower. I know they like to be quite crowded but even then they don't seem to flower.

Are they getting plenty of sunshine? What's the soil like?

Liquid feed once a week during the growing season, starting now.  Water during extended dry periods. There is a myth that they thrive on neglect.  The feed should help. If it is a very mature and congested clump then divide it, but be prepared there may be no flowers the following year.
  • Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated. Will the soil is quite heavy bit good stuff. And yes they are in the sun. Keen on green. Thanks very much for the advice. It is quote a congested clump so I'll divide and feed then maybe I'll also conquer! 😀

The evergreen ones can be temperamental imo
Most of mine are deciduous types and hide away in the winter. They prefer a good humus, free draining soil in full sun. I give mine a handful of chicken pellet fertiliser in spring and one in Autumn. Occasionally, a tomato foliar feed to promote flowering in between
They flower very well and grow quite fast and normally require dividing after 2 years which they respond to very well

I find one of the main reasons they don't flower is being dry in the Autumn .
    I've got about 30 -40 different varieties .
