Can anyone identify this for me?

I have this in my allotment, I thought at first it might be comfy but it’s not! 
Can anyone help please? Thank you!

    Yes I discovered it’s deep and very large white root.... which after digging parts out in autumn it growing again. Better get working on it again.

    It got comfy...rather than comfrey?....sorry we all do it, make spelling mistakes but sometimes, so aptly funny :)
    Good Luck removing the offending plant. :) Apologies, still chuckling. It is such a pretty blue.

    I've always called it Green Alkanet, looked up Pentaglottis sempervirens - same thing!
    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Me too, except half the time I call it Blue Alkanet!

    Its one of those plants that unfortunately often needs a touch or two of weed killer the root is so deep and just leave the smallest bit and yep it's back again.

    So unless your happy to dig half way to Australia and three feet around I suggest a little Glyphosate.
