I like Penstemon 'schoenholzen' - I like the slightly deeper red than 'Garnet'. So., they renamed it 'in remembrance of someone' - garnet was easier. I also have 'white bedder' which is very vigorous and free flowering.
Thats a brilliant price, Mr VE, yep, I paid around that for 9cm from an online nursery, they got mildew, three withered, three are hanging on, including the worst looking one. Hope you are feeling suitably smug
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
I'd also recommend Salvia Blue Bouquetta if you want a floripherous, upright and compact salvia with bright blue flowers. Have planted three is small urns and they look great.
I can agree wholeheartedly with anyone recommending the "Raven"... it is stunningly beautiful and pretty hardy too. I've just reordered mine for the 'new' garden (after a year of building work, I have my garden back!).
Has anyone heard of the white salvia 'snow angel'? Picked it up at B and Q but can't find any details online. It's quite pretty and took some cuttings hoping it will strike easy.

Spotted this today and remembered the recommendation!
£4.99 isn't bad for a 2L when I'd seen them online for similar prices for a 9cm pot
