I’ll try covering the window with some stained glass static film. I have some left, I don’t really need to see through the garage window and it will allow light in.

We've got the same problem with our 6ft wide front windows and the goldfinches but I really don't want to put black raptor pics on the windows. I find it a bit offputting as we have a lovely view. I drew the inner blue voiles across to see if that makes any difference this afternoon.

My previous garden was the size of a thimble, so I screwed some old mirrors to the wall to increase light and create an illusion of space.  A wagtail came every day to hurl itself at itself.  I asked an RSPB person, was it attacking a rival, or did it think the other bird was a hen and was trying to get its leg over?  He said certainly the former, and I should remove or at least cover the mirrors in case it injured itself. I never got round to it and eventually it gave up.
