Is the left hand side more exposed to either frost or sunshine?

  • No I would say it's the same...seems a shame to cut right back as goes right over my fence and enjoyed by my neighbour!!

It hasn't snapped off further down the stem perhaps?

Could an animal have peed on just that one side?

Too dry probably, or else damaged somewhere not easily visible.

You could cut that part back if it doesn't improve, water thoroughly, mulch, and see what happens. Plants often green up quicker on one side anyway, so worth waiting a little longer  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks for your comments. I will check not broken further down.  We also have a visiting fox now and then as something been trying to dig under the summer house. It's very annoying. I will investigate tomorrow. Thanks everyone
