Elephant ear is not doing well

I have a new elephant ear (I think it's an Alocasia Borneo King). It doesn't seem very happy. Several of its leaves have turned yellow and fallen, and a few more look like they are headed in that direction. Some of the tips and edges are turning yellow/brown as well. I was told by the person who sold it to me to water it once per week with 2-3 liters of water, which I've been doing. The plant is outdoors on a covered balcony, and it gets direct sun in the mornings and then shaded light for the rest of the day.

Any tips for how to improve its health?

Firstly, is it warm enough out on the balcony? It's a tropical plant so it needs warmth, not just frost-free.
Secondly, does the pot have drainage holes? If not, it could be waterlogged in the bottom which will kill the roots.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
