There’s a lawnmower in the distance, but that’s it so far ... cooing pigeons, bluetits, robins, blackbirds, a greenfinch are all making themselves heard ... oh, and a bi-plane ... where did that come from I wonder ...

Ok I’ll give enough that one then  Hosta,  I'm just thinking of other people,  we never hear as much as a pin drop apart from the birds.
oh yes! I do have a little wind chime in the conservatory, it lets me know when someone walks in, doors never locked.

I think ANY noise generated by anyone else is noise pollution. Luckily, like you, we're fairly insulated from it.

Been up and down most of the night so feeling rather washed out now - and I had so many gardening jobs lined up for today.

Would rather use a weapon to take a pot shot at wind chimes and if I hit a squirrel by mistake, I would get over it.

Is bi-plane politically correct these days? :#
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Reminds me of a story from during the war.  A couple of old farming gents were leaning on a gate chatting when a Scottish regiment in full regalia marched past.  The first guy was totally puzzled and asked his mate what it was.  Second guy says "I can't be sure.  They ain't blokes and they ain't women.  Must be that Middlesex regiment we've been hearing about"

The way things are going all the armed forces will be in one regiment. :D

Wednesday is always a noise day with lawnmowers & strimmers because the garden bins are emptied on Thursday

🙄 How did I manage to put OH’s favourite smart black workwear top in the wash with my grey fluffy jumper 😤

I have had success with those roller-sticky things that are just made for the job.  Perfect for fluffy stuff on dark clothes (including white cat fur!)
