    Too smelly for me.

    Obelixx Your right didn't think of that, don't think the neighbours would be best pleased on a summers day. 
  • Go for both options, put diluted urine in the water pistol :) The garden will only smell a bit on occasions.....

    hometoo.flyer I see cover all options I like you thinking. Apart from the plastic coated stuff I have put down some rose cuttings that I'd left to one side so if the go anywhere near my onions tonight they'll be sorry. I don't like hurting animals but when they do damage you have to act.

    DEE73 it doesn't need to be strong barely smellable, haven't had any complaints from neighbours, but a lot less cats in the garden, we are bird lovers and have seed feeders spread around the garden, sparrow hawks not cats are our problem.
