    It's possible to grow potatoes under black plastic cuts out the need for earthing up.

    Yes but they do need enough room to grow in Barry. I hope you haven't put too many seed potatoes in @Williamgiddings25.

    Potatoes have been in the garden for about a week now, too early to see growth, about a month ago I planted 6 Wilja, earlies in a 2 foot tub in the glasshouse green leaf showing through, there is about a foot above the tubers to fill in as they grow, to give and early crop.
