Potatoes

Just looked at my second earlies and maincrops which I'd been storing in what I thought was a pretty dark location, and they've grown quite a few white shoots. What should I do?

I was planning to chit my second earlies now, having just planted my firsts, but don't know whether the production of these white shoots will be detrimental to this.

And will it be best to knock the shoots of the maincrops and try to find somewhere darker to store until ready to planting?

Thanks!

They’ve chitted ... I’d plant them ASAP. Be gentle with them so you don’t knock the shoots off.

Right, did not know you could do that!

Thanks everyone, I’ll get them in the ground...
