I think it's 'Dublin Bay'... the scarlet red bloom, very dark purple almost black tips to the buds, large glossy foliage, very modern looking... and the occasional white streak in the bloom... are indicative for me, but some people buy roses from b and q with just 'red climbing rose' on the label... who knows what they are.. it would be good to know the provenance.. or whether there is a strong scent or not...
Paul, how do you mean that your roses were not happy in pots? What are the signs to look out for?
While I would like to plant it out, I understand the services to my house come in through the front of the bay window, so I'm not going to smashing through the concrete any soon. time
