Beetroot

I had a fantastic crop of Beetroot last year, the best ever.  I started the seed off in black module trays in a cold greenhouse and then planted them out around April/May time - in succession.  They all matured and I was very pleased with them.  What I can't remember is what I should add to the garden soil when planting the beetroot - we have compost, manure, blood fish and bone, growmore or bonemeal.

  • Brilliant, thank you for pointing me in the right direction Obelixx.  I can hardly wait to start planting them outside, although I have to harden the seedlings off for a week yet and I like to turn the soil over 2 or 3 times before making the drills.
