Marking all discussions "read"

I used to be able to mark all discussions "read" by clicking on the cogwheel icon ("options") at the RHS of the black title bar. A drop down menu appeared and I could select "mark all read". Now this icon takes me to a different screen, and there's no option for marking everything as read.

I still have this feature so maybe just a glitch at your end somehow?

I also still have the feature although the wording is "Mark all viewed" rather than "Mark all read".  I think it's extremely poor site/system design that it is necessary to do that.  On every other forum I use, and I use quite a lot, all posts prior to the time of visit are automatically set as 'read' once I leave the site.

I wouldn’t want them all marked as read each time I leave the site ... quite often I don’t have the time or don’t wish to read each thread on every visit ... sometimes I visit the site just to check out one or two threads, and ‘save’ the rest for later.

If they were all marked as read as I left the site I couldn’t do that.

It seems to be a problem with FireFox. I used Chrome instead and it all worked as before! How odd. Both browsers go to the same URL (https://forum.gardenersworld.com/profile/edit), but the result on FF is quite different, as below. It's as if "edit profile" has been automatically selected from the dropdown menu. Feature? Bug?

It's working fine on Firefox for me. Try clearing your cache and see if that helps.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

No difference sadly, even after a reboot. I had just run a Windoze update, maybe that broke something, or fixed something that my version of FF (39.0) was (unknowingly) relying on? Sigh.

No problem with Firefox for me either.  version 65 (64bit).

I've backed out yesterday's Window's updates (including one to Silverlight), but it's made no difference :( So I guess something has changed on the GW site ... how annoying.

Looks like I'm going to have to use Chrome from now for GW. Unless the bug/feature affects other people and enough people complain

I use Chrome on one laptop, Firefox on the other and Safari on this iPhone of course ... there seems to be no difference whichever one I’m using 😕
