On our asbestos garage roof, I tamped on (carefully!) a thin layer of wetted manure. I then subdivided some of an existing patch of sedum, and replanted in small patches. Hopefully the areas will spread and knit together. From time to time I replenish any hungry/slipped areas of the manure. It seems like a good bonus habitat for insects, birds, etc.
