Clematis 'the president'

I noticed today that the above clematis in my garden already has well developed flower buds. I read that it's supposed to flower june to September. Hmm.. Not sure if this is a good sign or not.

Probably got excited in that warm spell in February.  I have a clump of bearded iris out in full flower which is just mad.

The president is quite hardy - -25C according to clematis.be - but, if it does get knocked back by a frost you can just prune back to a healthy pair of buds and it will recover.  Feed it too.
