Trimming a Cherry Tree

Hi there,
I have a pair  3-4 year old (ish) cherry trees given to me by my Mother.
They are growing well bet straggly and I have no idea how to prune or which branches to cut. I have attached some images and would be very greatful if someone could point out what to do.  Thanks

Hello Robert,  They look fine to me and now is the WRONG time of the year to prune cherries. You will need to wait until July'ish when it is full in leaf, when you could just cut out any dead or crossing branches or any sticking out at odd angles. If you prune in winter you run the risk of silver leaf disease which is a wind borne fungus which kills cherries.
