Apple grafts

I've tried to graft some apple scions onto my existing trees, as per online videos, but what none of them say is what I should do next: when do I take off the protective tape, things like that.

    @ elderberry,..i don't know when you grafted the scions or if it was grafting tape or raffia you used,..however i imagine as you went by a video instruction you grafted at the proper time,..if so its when you see a callus clearly visible that its safe to remove the tape or raffia,..the usual period to remove either,..is approx eight weeks after taping up,..i hope this helps you.
