Standard Azalea rescue!

Hello,
Just brought this for 18p in Morrison's . I like to buy nearly dead plants and rescue them, however I have not a clue about this one at all. It was a crispy leaved and had dead flowers so I cut it all back. The stems are still green inside which o guess means it is still alive in its body! So just wondered if anyone had any care tips or to tell me if I shouldn't have pruned it right back?

Thanks !
Lou

Looks like it’s shooting out of the main stalk?   Just keep it in a warm place for awhile, it’s probably not seen the outdoors yet in its life, then when the weather warms up gradually introduce it to the great outdoors, bringing it in at nights.  It could be an indoor type anyway, I have a lovely one that never goes out.

Thanks for your comment. I will take your advice and keep it indoors till it gets warm them see how it gets on outside. If it doesn't adjust very well maybe I can have it indoors like your one. Hopefully this time next year it will look pretty!
