Become a better feeder

Hi All. I'm afraid I'm not a very good feeder mostly because I'm totally baffled by what, when and how to feed. I'm determined to start off well this year though. Any advice?

Do you mean plant feed, Vivien?
It will largely depend on what you grow and how and where you grow it. I use a bit of B,F&B round established shrubs, and usually put spent compost down in spring [autumn too if I have it] as that helps soil structure generally. Well rotted manure or compost as a mulch is good for feeding the soil which means less feeding from above.

Apart from that I use a bit of tomato food for annuals in pots, as the nutrition in compost isn't enough for their lifetime, and some liquid seaweed if any foliage plants look like they could do with a boost.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Exactly the same as Fairygirl with me,  feed tomato plants occasionally with tomato feed.

Just garden compost around established shrubs, Tomorite for container plants as a boost, plus slow acting fertilizer.

I only put a bit of feed on the roses, the rest is garden compost.
