Just standard ones from the GC nothing special,  and it is a miracle as I'm notoriously bad at seeds @Kili. 🤔

Anyone got any tips on germinating heliotrope “marine”?

Sow it in month or so’s time.

As everyone was singing the praises of seed compost I thought I’d try a bag, always only ever used my Erin multi purpose,   What a bad lot of germination from the seed compost, sown again now with my Erin.   Most seeds enjoy a bit of peat to germinated.
some don’t like to be covered, such as petunias and Lobelia and most fine seeds. Just lay on top of the compost.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

The one type of seed I’m struggling with is a chilli called Bhut Jolokia. I believe super hot chilli varieties are generally difficult to germinate. All part of the challenge I guess.

     Temperature is the key, 25-28℃

Just checked my 2018 diary - my Bhut Jolokia took 13 days to germinate in a heated propagator. I'd just about given up on them.
