Tazetta Narcissus - Falconet- why single flowers this year?

in Plants
I enjoy collecting all types of narcissus, and understand the different Divisions which describe their characteristics. Division 8 is a group known as Tazetta, with multi-headed stems and on the tender side, they include the well loved 'Paperwhite' narcissus usually grown to flower indoors around Christmas.
I have a Div. 8 variety - Falconet. It was planted outside in a sheltered area in 2016 where it produced a lovely display of at least 25 multi headed flowers. Last year there were fewer flowers per stem, and less stems. This year there are about a dozen stems but the flowers are all single.
Does anyone know if this is usual for a Div.8 narcissus.

I may have the same problem but to be honest, I might have got mine all mixed up last autumn when repotting..
These are Falconet, ... photo taken early April with red tulips..
...everything is earlier this Spring I find, so I expect them to be flowering about now..
..so here is a photo of the same pot taken today, and the flowers are single... however, as I say, I'm not totally sure I didn't get these mixed up somewhere along the line.. they don't look like the same daff but they're in the same pot, and those red tulips are coming up again with buds..
Your pic of Falconet do not look like the ones I had..
My Falconet looked like yours, Marlorena, when they first flowered, lovely multi-heads, the clump has not been disturbed for 3 years but all the flowers are single this year. Maybe they have taken the stronger side of one of their seedling parents. Isn't that the wonder of gardening? You never know what will happen.
I find multiheaded become single headed sometimes over time. Tete a Tete becomes just Tete

..they do look like Jetfire but these are a larger size... I have Jetfire elsewhere, much shorter type.. here below.. you can see with Jetfire how the yellow petals flare backwards reminiscent of jet emissions I suppose.. I'm going through my narcissus labels to see if I can find the other one above..
oh ok, just edit to say the ones in the photo above are 'Red Devon'..
'Jetfire' below..
