Porch Plants?

Good day to you all,

I’m hoping you can give me some advice please. I have an enclosed (on three sides / roof) porch where I would like to plant some plants. I was thinking something low maintenance and that does not require allot (if at all) any sun. I was thinking a living wall with succulent plants or even air plants.

Any advice if this is a good idea or is there something else I can do? Thank you so much for your kind advice in advance.

Terry

Any chance of a picture of the porch, and where abouts are you? Most succulents like sun or bright light at the least. Tillandsia (air plants) generally don't like temperatures below about 15c. Dry shade is always one of the most tricky areas to find plants for but there are ways around the problem.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Thank you 'Wild Edges' The porch is about 1.5 meters by 1.5 meters. I am located in Haslemere, Surrey with a South facing garden. The sun rises to the front of the house where the porch is located. Not sure if this helps, I can post a picture later when from work. Many thanks

Should wait for your pictures, but ferns might be okay. You would have to pick the right kinds but there should be some that would thrive.
And you could add seasonal pockets of colour if you have a hanging wall of things.

Sorry thought to add. I meant hardy garden ferns, like  Adiantum capillus veneris and Aspelnium trichomanes.
  • Thank you Rubytoo very kind of you and a really good idea! Did not even think of ferns. Much appreciate your input.
