theres no point in having buddleia bushes if you don’t have nettles.
Important to note that the nettles must be in a sunny part of the garden. Leaving a few scrubby ones in a dark corner won't cut it. Chop 'em back in early summer to ensure lots of new tender growth - Tortoiseshells in particular are very fussy about this.
Peacocks and small tortoiseshells are the two you are thinking of, they love my nettles (I have close to 1/4 of an acre of the things. I find roundup kills nettles in one application, they do come back from seed but the existing ones will be dead. A good way to get rid of nettles is just to grab the roots/base of the plant and pull, they come out quite easily, but not so easy if they are wrapped round bushes of course.
