Agapanthus Chewed by Puppy!

Hi,
We ‘had’ a wonderful Agapanthus that I bought last year from Gardeners World Live. It had lovely white flowers and I collected the seed pods at the end of the flowering season last year to try propogation, anyway, I digress. I believe it was an evergreeen variety as it retained its luscious green leaves over winter.
We had a new Puppy in January who chose to chew the plant so I now have whispy pale green/brown strands where my Agapanthus used to be! I’m wondering, if I leave it in position in the border, will it regrow or should I lift the bulbs and pot them up to help it?
Really unsure what to do for the best so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
