Plant id - is it a rose

Noticed this in the garden this afternoon. I have a memory of planting a bulb type thing two summers ago. Possibly a rose. Any ideas greatly appreciated

It looks more like a very precocious peony, but it's hard to tell.  The camera seems to have focussed on the weeds!
PS roses aren't bulbs.  Neither are peonies but they do have thick tuberous roots.

  • Thanks Jenny ! It is a terrible picture lol yes it was a tube not a bulb . Fingers crossed it takes off when I do the weeding lol thanks

It's very advanced though.  Mine are only just showing their noses.

A tree peony? Mine are showing plenty of leaves.

A herbaceous peony, the type that disappear overwinter and pop up again in spring.
Mine has started peeping up, but like Jenny, not as advanced as the one pictured.
