Just a note, I stuck 2 canes of strong Annabel in a 9 cm pot (pencils thickness and length) in autumn and left them under a tree. Just noticed   both of these have rooted and are showing new buds. So if you can get cuttings now could be a good time to propagate...FYI I’m a novice....

Thanks Alchemist. Well done!!! I don't know anyone who has one but now I will just buy one and take cuttings when I can. They are quite expensive plants xx hope yours grows fast

we have planted a 'hedge' of annabelle and they're really struggling. about three years back.  a bit too much sun, a bit too light soil, they never seem to be able to get enough hydration.  i mulch the soil spring/autumn, i give it some FBB usually spring but they really are weak/feeble shrubs on our soil/situation.  i'm STILL hoping they 'just need to get roots down' and so on.....any suggestions welcome ( pot up, move, particular feed, hard prune?)

Aw that's sad UpNorth. Hope mine will as we get plenty of rain. Wet here and hydrangeas thrive in my area as acid soil . Hope yours take off!! xx

So  expensive! have the same plan to take cuttings and increase my stock from my plant and create a hydrangea hedge like UpNorth.

Littlegrower a hedge would be stunning!! Yes I googled them and they are about £35. Will keep looking xx
  • Have you tried the T&M site, their prices start from around £10, but a smaller plant.

I bought three from here a couple of years ago to go against a new fence. Good quality plants, and have seen they're just starting to bud nicely too...
