Hesperantha and Magny Cours lilies

I have been given both these lilies already potted, when would be the best time to plant them in the garden, what type of soil do they like and would they like full sun or partial?

I think Hesperantha like more moisture than I gave them

Agree that Hesperantha like it moist.

  • Perhaps the Hesperantha could be moved into a pot that has an automatic irrigation system attached - would it thrive in a large pot?

Yes. My daughter has them in a large pot.

  • Thanks for the thumbs up Joyce21 - they were given to me so it is imperative that they thrive - we did lose a few plants in the drought last summer, although those that are watered automatically were fine, so I can set the Hesperantha into a pot placed around our house.
It's not that I am lazy - we do have a big garden to water and I can no longer lift a full watering can, which is so frustrating - gardening takes longer than it used to .....
