Fig trees

Is it possible to move my fig tree. Originally planted in a bottomless pot against house wall. It is 5 years old.

Depending on the size (can you post a photo?), the answer is "probably"!  If you think you can dig out enough root to support the top growth (the roots will be roughly equal in 'woody volume'), then now is the time to try, while it is dormant.  Even if (when?) you have to cut through some of the deeper roots, as long as there are a decent amount of roots left and you also prune the stems down in proportion, then it should recover.  What won't work is replanting a large fig with few roots without pruning it hard.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Thanks for advice have moved it with good rootball and hard pruned. Now crossing my fingers.
