Too Close?

I have and acer and a magnolia that were planted a long time before I had even a passing interest in gardening and were put in to fill the gaps.

They now overlap into each other on a shallow border and I’m wondering if it’s best to move one?

I would leave them where they are.You can always prune if they get tangled but I like to see things growing together, more natural than seeing them as 'seperate' shrubs  :)
