Hi all, just reading in GW magazine about climbers Ipomoea Alba is recommended. As soon as I saw fragrant white flowers I was sold! My question is would it do well here in the West Midlands? Lots of references to needing warmth?? Anyone grown it successfully and if so what do you think?

    It is a half hardy annual, one of the Morning glories.
    Sow indoors, do not plant out until June, first frosts will kill.

    I grew a few many years ago, I forgot they existed, but do remember they smell nice.
    Mine got rather yellow leaves, a cultivation error on my part I think, it was early on in my gardening hobby.
    I can't remember why.
    Don't they open in the evening rather than being "Morning Glories"?

    Thanks to both of you. Will definitely give them a go cannot resist a scented flower. Let’s hope we get lots of balmy summer evenings to enjoy them.

    I've reported her @pansyface, and asked if the account could be closed as she's been a persistent spammer for years. It doesn't help when the so called 'advice' is seriously dodgy.
    Whether anything will change is anyone's guess...
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
