New turf laid full of stones
hi had my garden landscaped, the new turf was laid down on Monday, today I removed two handfuls of small slate type stones....where have they come from?!?!? Surly they don’t sell turf containing stones?

Was the soil prepared properly by the landscapers carrying out the work. The soil should have been racked throughly and all large stone removed prior to the lawn being laid.
Obviously, it could be that the turf does have some stones in it but if it’s come from a reputable supplier, then the turf should be stone free, Does the turf look green with no yellow streaks or showing bumps underneath it
Personally, I would contact the landscaping company that carried out the work and request that they return and give an explanation on why this may have happened and take it from there
i cant understand why they would lay pebbles/stones when preparing the soil underneath. As I said before, they should have racked the soil, removed all large stones, then walking over the area to consolidate the surface. This should have been done until the lawn is level and compounded enough for the turf to be laid. Any depressions in the soil should have been levelled out with top soils
i would tell the “landscaper” that he has an obligation to return and check the work he has done if you are not satisfied with it.
Best of luck
How deep are the layers?
It's slightly worrying that you can't get hold of him as he's 'too busy'.
Have you got a pic of the area, Aich?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
