Hello everyone,

This is my Grandma's tree, she lives in the North East of England, Newcastle, North Shields.

An Acacia Tree (Mimosa flowers) which is a very rare sight to see in full bloom at this time of year in the North.

If anyone else has one of these trees at full bloom in their gardens too she would love to know.

Any comments would be much appreciated, hope you all like the pictures!

Thank you!

How wonderful. Thank you for posting a pic.
It goes to show how climate is changing.
    Winters are not so cold.
I doubt it would have flowered in the harsher winter from 10 years ago.
I was amazed to see one in central London 30 years ago....but it is known that big cities are  slightly warmer than rural areas

Cheating a bit as it's warmer here but this is one of ours taken on Tuesday.  We inherited it 2.5 years ago when we moved in and have lifted the crown, taken out crossing branches and removed lots of babies, nettles and long grass from below.

    It has responded very well.
